Pittsburgh man arrested during traffic stop with drugs, gun in car

A Pittsburgh man is facing multiple charges including carrying a firearm without a license and possession with intent to deliver after being pulled over during a traffic stop.

Pittsburgh Police said that Violence Prevention Unit detectives stopped a car during a traffic stop on March 15 at Knox and Zara Street. The driver, Dawian Harper, 29, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Police said that after applying for a search warrant for the car, detectives found a Glock 44 .22 caliber pistol, heroin and fentanyl, more than $2,100, a cardboard box containing hundreds of pre-packaged stamp bags, packaging paraphernalia and two clear plastic bags containing marijuana.

Officials ID man killed in 20-vehicle crash on I-80

Officials have identified a man killed Tuesday in a massive vehicle accident on Interstate 80 in Clarion County.

The crash happened around 12:30 a.m. between Exits 42 and 53 on the Emlenton Bridge.

The Emlenton Fire Department said in a Facebook post that the crash involved more than 20 passenger and commercial vehicles.

Joga Singh, 35, a passenger in a commercial vehicle, died in the crash, according to Clarion County Coroner Dan Shingledecker. Singh, of New York, died of blunt force trauma in the crash after being ejected from the sleeper cab.

Eight people were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries stemming from the crash, and the interstate was shut down for several hours. Pennsylvania State Police out of the Clarion barracks are leading the investigation into what caused the pileup.

Powerball jackpot soars after no winner on Wednesday

The Powerball has an estimated jackpot of $750 million after no ticket matched all six numbers on Wednesday.

The latest jackpot has an estimated cash value of $357.3 million for whoever ends up with the winning numbers.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. According to Powerball officials, the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.

The next drawing will be Saturday.
