Landslide in Polish Hill
A landslide impacted parts of Brereton Street, just past Haran Street, in Pittsburgh’s Polish Hill, early Friday morning.
Pittsburgh Police responded to the landslide just before 3 a.m., where officers saw a large spray of water in the roadway coming from a broken water main, said public safety spokeswoman Emily Bourne. The area had also slid down the hillside causing debris to cover a portion of the Martin Luther King Jr. East Busway, she said. The busway remains closed.
No injuries were reported.
The Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority is aware of the water main break and shut the water off, Bourne said. Barricades have been placed around the area. There have been no evacuations as of 5 a.m., Bourne said.
People can still access the 28th Street Bridge.
