The National Road Heritage Corridor has cancelled plans to create a special “Sunday Supper in the Park” on May 19 in Washington, the organization said Wednesday.
“Unforeseen challenges” forced the organization to cancel the special fundraising dinner on May 19 at Washington Park, said Donna Holdorf, executive director of the Uniontown-based National Road Heritage Corridor.
The nonprofit organization, which promotes the history of the road through this region, has not decided when to reschedule the meal, Holdorf said.
Holdorf said no tickets to the event had been purchased. Money raised from the supper in prior years has been used to support the heritage corridor’s work in communities in the region, as well as educational programs.
