Need work? Here are companies that are hiring during coronavirus pandemic
There are still some businesses hiring as the covid-19 pandemic continues to devastate the labor market.
Foremost are retail jobs like those at Giant Eagle. The O’Hara-based grocery chain has been busy and it is working to offer temporary jobs to those who have been impacted by the shutdown.
Giant Eagle has partnered with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Primanti Bros. to provide PPG Paints Arena workers and Primanti restaurant employees with temporary jobs at the grocery store.
“Supermarkets, pharmacies and fuel stations are critical community resources right now,” Giant Eagle President and CEO Laura Shapira Karet said in a statement.
Giant Eagle is also looking to hire hundreds of people at its stores, warehouse and as truck drivers, the company said.
