The occupants of a Washington County home were able to escape unharmed after a fire broke out early Thursday morning, according to authorities.

Multiple fire departments responded to the blaze along Windermere Court in Peters Township shortly before 4 a.m., according to a 911 dispatcher. The home that caught fire is near the intersection of Lexington Drive.

Fire officials reported that they were battling “heavy fire” showing on one side of the two-story home that spread through the building.
