Ohio has extended its stay-at-home order through May 30, the governor’s office announced late Thursday.

The state issued a schedule for some businesses to begin reopening this month, but Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s statewide stay-at-home order for residents will not end until 11:59 p.m. May 29. The full text of the order was posted on the state’s website.

Pennsylvania is set to announce its plans Friday on what parts of Pennsylvania could see coronavirus restrictions eased.

In Ohio, DeWine issued a schedule for when some businesses may resume operations. Manufacturing, construction and offices can begin reopening May 4 and retail shops can resume operations May 12.

Schools, beauty and barbershops, day-care centers, gyms and entertainment venues are among the businesses that must remain closed. Taverns and restaurants can open for take-out and delivery only.

Businesses that will be allowed to reopen must follow social-distancing guidelines and other measures, such as requiring employees and customers to wear protective masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Gatherings of more than 10 people and nonessential travel will still be prohibited.

Beginning Saturday, the state’s health-care providers can begin performing procedures and operations that do not require an overnight stay. Dental offices and veterinarians also will be allowed to reopen.
