An Ohio man faces federal charges in connection with bank robberies in Erie, New Castle and Allison Park.

Vernon Marquis McGhee-Luster, 33, of Akron is accused of robbing the PNC Bank at 3830 Pine Ave. in Erie on Oct. 18.

The indictment also accuses McGhee-Luster of robbing the Citizens Bank at 4761 Route 8 in Allison Park, and attempting to rob the PNC Bank at 2802 Wilmington Road in New Castle, both on Oct. 24.

Authorities said McGhee-Luster could be sentenced to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both for each count if convicted.

The FBI and police departments from Erie, Hampton, Neshannock and Akron conducted the investigation that lead to McGhee-Luster’s indictment.
