The Pennsylvania Department of Health on Saturday reported 45 new deaths and 701 additional cases of the coronavirus.
The state has now had 75,086 total cases and 5,931 deaths. Deaths have been recorded in 55 of the state’s 67 counties, and every county has had a positive case.
More than 435,000 people have tested negative for covid-19.
Nursing and personal care homes account for about 25% of the state’s total cases, with 16,056 cases involving residents and 2,793 involving employees.
Nearly 70% of the state’s deaths involved residents of nursing and personal care homes. Cases have been reported at 613 facilities in 45 counties.
More than 5,700 of the total cases are in health care workers.
As of Friday, all 67 Pennsylvania counties had moved out of the red phase of Gov. Tom Wolf’s three-phase reopening plan. Allegheny and Westmoreland counties were among those that moved into the green phase, easing restrictions on businesses like restaurants, salons and barber shops.
Allegheny County Health Department officials reported 16 new covid-19 cases and no new deaths Saturday.
The total number of deaths countywide is 168, while the total number of confirmed and probable cases rose to 1,989, according to the county. The first cases were reported in Allegheny County on March 14.
There was one new case and no new deaths in Westmoreland County reported Saturday, bringing the total to 457 cases and 38 deaths.
