A curbside delivery is made at the Fine Wine & Good Spirit and store Tuesday, April 21, 2020, in Cranberry. The store began pick-up service at noon on Tuesday.

Pennsylvania liquor stores fulfilled more than 25,000 orders for about $2.3 million in the first three days of curbside sales, and there are plans to expand the number of stores participating in the program, according to the Liquor Control Board.

There were about 6,000 orders fulfilled statewide Monday — the first day of curbside sales — more than 8,000 Tuesday and about 11,300 Wednesday, said Shawn Kelly, spokesman for the LCB.

Kelly said the agency would open more stores for call-in orders. He declined to provide specifics.

“We plan to introduce curbside pickup at more locations in coming days, and we’ll have more details tomorrow,” Kelly said Thursday afternoon.

The state’s Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores also fulfilled more than 33,000 online orders for $3.17 million from Saturday through Wednesday, Kelly said, and the LCB anticipates opening up more locations for curbside pickup in an effort to fulfill more orders.

The launch of the curbside program did not go off without a hitch Monday and throughout the week. Many customers were greeted by busy signals, leading to frustration and confusion over the ordering process.

Customers must place their curbside order over the phone at a location. They then will be told when they can pick it up at an assigned date and time.

Gov. Tom Wolf closed all Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores March 17. Workers have returned to some stores since then to supplement demand from online orders.

Since April 1, the stores have fulfilled more than 69,000 online orders for $6.63 million in sales, Kelly said.
