The Plumbers Local Union No. 27 is accepting applicants for its apprenticeship training program at its Coraopolis headquarters now through March 9.
The union is looking for 22 applicants, who will embark on a 5-year apprenticeship that includes working fulltime and attending classes two to three nights a week for five years, according to Union headquarters in Coraopolis.
Applicants must live in the counties covered by Local Union No. 27, which include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Clarion, Crawford, Erie, Forest, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Venango, Warren and the cities of Arnold and New Kensington in Westmoreland County and sections of Washington and Greene Counties.
The union offers the apprenticeships annually in the spring.
Interested workers should report to the Coraopolis headquarters at 1040 Montour West Industrial Park, Coraopolis, and the Erie Training Center, 8150 Hawthorne Dr., Erie Pa. 16509.
Applicants can report: Monday, Tuesdays, and Wednesday 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. to noon and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.
Potential workers must bring a $30 application fee; high school diploma or G.E.D., a valid PA driver’s license, and a transcript of high school grades.
