Crowds gather in the Youghiogheny River at Ohiopyle State Park on Wednesday, Aug. 12, in 2020.

It’s probably no surprise that Point State Park was the most visited state park in the region in 2024, according to statistics released by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

With sweeping city, river and bridge views, the park provides 36 acres of green space while preserving its place in the birth of the nation. An estimated 1.57 million people visited Point State Park in 2024, taking in the 100-foot tall fountain at the confluence of the Monongahela, Ohio and Allegheny rivers.

About 20,000 more people visited the park last year compared to 2023, statistics show.

Statewide, an estimated 38.5 million people visited Pennsylvania’s 121 parks in 2024. Locally, the second most visited park was Moraine State Park in Butler County with an estimated 1.1 million people followed by Ohiopyle State Park in Fayette County with 919,400 visitors. Both parks saw similar bumps in visitors from 2023.
