Two men, a woman and a 1-year-old girl were woken by gunshots in the early morning of Dec. 29, according to state police.

Six shots were fired into a Connellsville, Fayette County home, missing the victims by a few feet.

According to police, there were four shooters. Investigators don’t know who they are, but they know who was behind the attack, they said.

Colby Umbel, 23, of West Leisenring, organized the shooting, police said.

Umbel knew the baby’s mother, according to police.

It is unclear if he was one of the shooters.

Police on Friday charged Umbel with solicitation of criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, recklessly endangering another person, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

He has yet to be arraigned as of Friday night.

The investigation is ongoing, and more charges might be coming, according to police.

Further details were not immediately available.
