Ellwood City police expect to obtain arrest warrants this week for three people in connection with a weekend domestic dispute and stabbing in the 200 block of Hillside Avenue.

Ellwood City police said charges will range from aggravated and simple assault to violation of a protection from abuse order.

According to the police report, a 37-year-old man was stabbed in an altercation around 1:30 a.m. Saturday at a Hillside home involving a girlfriend, ex-girlfriend, boyfriend, friend of the ex-boyfriend and relative of the girlfriend.

The man who was stabbed and another person fled before police arrived. They were found later at a home in the 400 block of Country Club Drive in North Sewickley Township. Because of the severity of his injuries, the man was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital for treatment. A condition report was not available Tuesday.

The case remains under investigation by police in consultation with the Beaver County district attorney’s office.
