State police are looking for four or five people who were on this utility terrain vehicle that fled from a traffic stop in Somerset on Saturday.

Four or five people who were on a utility terrain vehicle that nearly rammed into a Somerset police car early Saturday morning are being sought by state police.

Troopers came across a red UTV driving through Somerset around 2 a.m. The driver did not stop and a pursuit began that lasted about 20 minutes.

Police said the UTV traveled at a high rate of speed and committed several traffic violations, including almost ramming into the borough police car.

The pursuit ended in the area of Route 601 and Riggs Road when the UTV traveled down a trail.

It’s described as red and boxy with four seats, possibly a Yamaha Rhino, Kawasaki Teryx or a Honda Pioneer.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact state police in Somerset at 814-445-4104.
