President Donald Trump will make his way to Beaver County next week to tour a soon-to-be completed Shell Chemicals ethane cracker plant.
A White House official confirmed the president’s scheduled stop at the $6 billion plant near Monaca on Thursday.
Trump plans to speak after the tour about his administration’s economic accomplishments and support for the nation’s expanding domestic manufacturing and energy production.
Officials said his economic policies make it possible for multi-billion-dollar investments such as the Shell complex to take place.
The plant is expected to convert ethane to about 1.6 million tons of polyethylene a year.
It will be his second visit to the state this year. He was last in Pennsylvania for a rally in Montoursville on May 20.
Trump won Pennsylvania by just more than 44,000 votes in 2016, becoming the first Republican presidential candidate to carry the state since George H.W. Bush did in 1988.
