Periods of rain beginning Saturday evening and continuing for the next several days could cause flooding, a National Weather Service meteorologist said.
“If you want to get out and enjoy some semblance of this weekend, you’d want to do it tomorrow” before evening, said meteorologist Myranda Fullerton.

Because of the prolonged period of rain on Sunday and the already saturated ground, Fullerton said localized flooding, especially in urban and poor drainage areas, is anticipated. Widespread flooding is not currently a concern, and the emerging trees and other vegetation should help absorb some of the moisture.
A break from the rain is expected Monday into Tuesday, with another chance for rain Tuesday night into Wednesday. Another round of widespread rain is in the forecast for Wednesday into early Thursday.
“We might see some breaks and see some sun here and there,” Fullerton said.
High temperatures will remain below the average of 66. After a high of 64 Saturday, highs will be in the mid-50s to low 60s into next week, she said.
The coldest low in the coming forecast is in the upper 30s to low 40s Monday night into Tuesday, Fullerton said.
