A man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting last month in Aliquippa is in custody, state police said.

Rico Ramone Rodgers, 21, of Aliquippa is charged with homicide and firearms violations. He was arrested without incident around 2 p.m. Saturday in Homewood by Allegheny County, Pittsburgh and state police along with U.S. Marshals.

Rodgers is accused of killing Karon Thomas, 20, of Aliquippa.

State police responded to Irwin Street just before 9 p.m. on Jan. 23 for a report of a shooting, according to a release from authorities. The victim, later identified as Thomas, was taken to Heritage Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

State police charged Rodgers on Feb. 2.

Rodgers was denied bail when he was arraigned Sunday, and was being held in the Beaver County Prison, according to court records. His preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 16.
