A Blair County woman and her two children were found safe in Indiana County Tuesday morning after state police said they were missing and possibly in danger, according to Trooper Cliff Greenfield.

A motorist spotted a black 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche Alicia Rose Brumbaugh, 31, and her children Maverick, 1, and Aleah, 2, were reported to be riding in with Brumbaugh’s father-in-law Edgar Lee Decker Jr., 56. Greenfield said the motorist called 911 at 10:25 a.m. and the vehicle was stopped by police on Route 422 east in White Township.

Decker, of Roaring Spring, was taken into custody, Greenfield said.

Police started looking for the group after a family member received a “frantic phone call” from Brumbaugh at 11:23 p.m. Monday in the area of a Walmart store in Indiana County. Police said Brumbaugh reported she and the children were at or near the store with Decker and asked the family member call police. The phone was turned off after the call, Greenfield said.

On Tuesday, troopers confirmed through store surveillance video that the Chevrolet Avalance left the Walmart plaza Monday night. Police said Decker was wanted by state police in Bedford County on a felony retail theft warrant. He was recently released from rehabilitation treatment.
