A Fayette County man accused in a kidnapping and fatal shooting in Connellsville said a 16-year-old boy went with him voluntarily.

Keith Scott Bradshaw, 31, of Everson addressed reporters as he was being walked by police to the Fayette County Jail Wednesday morning, according to a video recorded by Tribune-Review news partner WPXI. He is accused of fatally shooting William Stewart, 52, at a Connellsville home Tuesday and taking Stewart’s soon-to-be stepson Damion Mickey, 16.

“I didn’t kidnap him,” Bradshaw told reporters outside the jail. “Me and (Mickey’s) mom and Bill and them just got back from Florida the day before yesterday, got back from vacation to Orlando, Fla., so there’s no reason to do that.”

I just talked to kidnapping/murder suspect Keith Bradshaw. Part of our conversation below. Stay with me. (As this was ending, he also complimented the booking center.) https://t.co/n9n8zAmKQ9

An Amber Alert was issued Tuesday morning for Mickey after Stewart was found fatally shot on the porch of an East Fairview Avenue home. The alert was lifted a short time later after authorities found them in Chambersburg through an OnStar system in Bradshaw’s vehicle.

Bradshaw and Marjorie Ann Jay, 37, of Connellsville are charged with homicide, kidnapping and conspiracy. Bradshaw was arraigned Wednesday morning. He and Jay are being held in the county jail without bail. Jay was arrested Tuesday morning at her home.

Police said the shooting happened while Stewart and Bradshaw were arguing, according to court papers. Witnesses reported that Bradshaw pulled a gun out of his waistband and shot Stewart, then went into the home, took Mickey and drove away.

Bradshaw and Jay have preliminary hearings set for Feb. 27.
