A man wanted for homicide in a missing person’s case in New Castle was arrested in Maryland, New Castle police announced late Sunday.
Connor Farris Henry, 20, who police charged with killing Amari J. Wise, 19, was arrested in Ocean City, Md., police said.
Wise’s family reported him missing on June 6.
New Castle police charged Henry on Sunday with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence.
Police also charged Todd Henry, 47, with criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence. New Castle said he was in custody at the city’s police department on Monday afternoon.
Criminal complaints filed in the case said police received tips that Wise was possibly killed in a garage or residence owned by Todd Henry following an argument between Wise and another male. Witnesses told police that Connor Henry shot Wise from behind with a gun presumed to be owned by his father, the complaint said.
On June 8, New Castle police Detective Joseph Crum asked for consent to search Todd Henry’s residence. Crum reported that Todd Henry appeared to be nervous, avoiding eye contact and continuing to look at full bags of trash on his porch, the complaint. After obtaining a search warrant, Crum located and seized two firearm magazines and a spent bullet slug on the sidewalk in front of the residence.
A search of the potential crime scene a day later showed that the garage floor appeared to have bloody areas approximately three feet inside the door.
