Tornado confirmed in Indiana County, 4th in less than a month
Indiana County saw damage from its fourth tornado in less than a month on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service in Moon.
A damage assessment team visited Green Township on Wednesday and determined that the EF1 tornado — capable of moderate damage — touched down at 7:55 p.m. The twister traveled one-third of a mile with winds of 105 mph in a rural area in the eastern part of the county.
No one was hurt.
Two tornadoes ripped through the county on May 25 — one in Burrell Township and the other in Center Township. The winds damaged a home and uprooted trees.
The third tornado touched down on May 28 in the Penn Run area.

The National Weather Service previously confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down around 6:20 p.m. Sunday in the area of Parker near the border of Butler and Armstrong counties.
The weather service said the tornado with winds up to 105 miles per hour, with a path length of 1.56 miles and a width of 400 yards. An EF-1 tornado is classified as a weak tornado with the potential for moderate damage.
