Trib journalists win Golden Quills awards

The Tribune-Review won two Golden Quill Awards for journalistic excellence at The Press Club of Western Pennsylvania’s annual recognition held Thursday.

The awards, which recognize written, visual, broadcast and online journalism during 2019, were presented during a virtual ceremony streamed online.

The Trib had 24 finalists in various categories.

The Trib’s first place winners were:

• “Tree of Life: One Year Later,” by the Tribune-Review staff. It was an examination of the Tree of Life anti-Semitic massacre in October 2018 and its aftermath in the year that followed in video form. It won in the Public Affairs/Politics/Government category of Excellence in Video/Broadcast Journalism.

• “Blood Moon on the Rise,” photographed by Chaz Palla in January 2019. It won best Feature Photo in Excellence in Visual Craft Achievement.
