Trib Total Media co-sponsoring Republican U.S. Senate debate
Five candidates running in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate primary election for the Republican nomination will participate Tuesday evening in a debate hosted by Spotlight PA and its founding members.
Spotlight PA is an independent, nonpartisan newsroom powered by the Philadelphia Inquirer in partnership with PennLive/The Patriot-News, TribLIVE/Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and WITF Public Media.
Candidates Kathy Barnette, Jeff Bartos, Carla Sands, George Bochoetto and Sean Gale are scheduled to appear in Tuesday’s debate. Dr. Mehmet Oz was unable to attend due a scheduling conflict, and Dave McCormick’s campaign did not respond to requests to confirm he was attending, nor did they provide a reason he could not participate.
The event, hosted at Dickinson College, will be moderated by Scott LaMar, host of WITF’s “Smart Talk,” with questions posed by PennLive’s Ivey DeJesus, TribLIVE’s Paula Reed Ward and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jonathan Tamari.
The 90-minute debate is not open to the public, but can be viewed online at 7 p.m.
Spotlight PA hosted a debate among Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate Monday.
