A man from Johnstown and a woman from Tyrone were killed when the vehicles they were driving collided head-on early Tuesday in Indiana County, according to authorities.

Dorian Caton, 22, of Johnstown, and Cassandra Lee Jones, 33, of Tyrone, each died of blunt force trauma in the crash that happened just before 6 a.m. in Brush Valley Township, according to Indiana County Coroner Jerry Overman.

He said damage was severe to both vehicles.

State police said Caton’s sedan crossed the center line of the highway and crashed head-on with Jones’ SUV near the intersection of Sunflower Lane, about six miles east of Homer City.

Each driver was wearing a seat belt, Overman said.

Funeral arrangements for Caton are being handled by the Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home, Johnstown. Arrangements for Jones were to be determined.

Anyone who may have seen the crash is asked to call police at 724-357-1960.

The state police accident reconstruction team assisted.
