Vehicle crashes into South Connellsville barbershop, jolting owner and his wife awake
A vehicle crashed into the front of a South Connellsville barbershop Thursday morning.
The initial call about the crash came in at 4:07 a.m. Thursday, according to Fayette County 911 dispatch.
There was no word released on the driver’s condition or what caused the crash, although the dispatcher said there were no reports of injuries or entrapment.
Owner John Prah was awakened abruptly from his sleep by the impact.
“We were in bed, and it shook the whole house — woke us up,” said Prah, 83, of his and his wife’s experience.
The barbershop, open for 21 years, is located in the 1600 block of South Pittsburgh Street. Prah and his wife live in the same building as the business.
Though he usually works part time, Prah said he won’t be able to while damages are being fixed — including replacing the roof.
“I’ll be out of business for a few weeks,” Prah told TribLive the morning of the crash. “There’s extensive damage.”
Prah said he’s unsure what the damage will cost, but he’s in talks with insurance.
“It’s all being taken care of,” he said.
