Pennsylvania State Police have accused a Washington County man of fatally shooting his neighbor Wednesday afternoon in Smith Township.

Bryce Kevin Tacy, 52, is accused of criminal homicide in the incident reported at about 2:3o p.m. along Loffert Road.

Police said Tacy verbally engaged the victim, Jerry E. Anderson, 44, while Anderson was operating his John Deere riding mower.

Tacy then shot Anderson multiple times with a legally registered firearm, police said.

Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said Anderson was pronounced dead just after 5 p.m.

When police were called to the scene, the shooting suspect reportedly had barricaded himself in his home, according to a Washington County 911 supervisor.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m., Tribune-Review news partner WPXI captured video of a man being taken into custody following a standoff with a SWAT team.

The Washington County District Attorney’s Office told the station there had been past disputes between the two men.
