The Western PA Diaper Bank is seeking donations to continue providing needed diapers to low- and moderate-income families amid the coronavirus crisis. The bank distributed 24,000 diapers during the week of March 16, 2020.

Typically, one in three American families experiences what the Western PA Diaper Bank calls “diaper need.”

As a result, the bank distributed 24,000 diapers last week to low- and moderate-income families in an effort to support those impacted by the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic.

“The unexpected demand is quickly depleting the number of diapers available to address ongoing diaper needs among families living in poverty,” said the bank’s executive director, Cathy Battle.

The bank is hosting a series of online emergency donation drives through the GoFundMe website, seeking to raise $10,000.

In addition to product distribution through the bank’s 28 partner organizations in Allegheny, Westmoreland and Fayette counties, the bank is also arranging emergency diaper distribution with the Greater Pittsburgh Restaurant Workers and Clairton Elementary school, and service workers.

To donate, click here or go to GoFundMe.com and search for “Western PA Diaper Bank.” Donations are also accepted through JustGiving.com.
