Winter weather advisory: Parts of Western Pa. could get 7 inches of snow
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory that includes parts of Westmoreland County.
The advisory, which runs from noon Wednesday to 7 a.m. Thursday, is forecasting between 3 and 7 inches of snow in an area that stretches from Franklin County southwest to Tucker County, W.Va.
The heaviest accumulation is forecast for the ridges of Pennsylvania and West Virginia south of Uniontown, which could get between 4 and 7 inches of snow.
Areas north of the West Virginia-Pennsylvania line, including Uniontown and Latrobe, are expected to get about 1 inch of snow.
About 2 inches of snow is forecast for Indiana and Mercer counties.
The weather service cautions that period of snow, sleet or freezing rain will create hazardous driving conditions.
Most of Allegheny, Butler, Washington counties are expected to get less than 1 inch of snow.
