The Wings of Freedom Tour will return to the Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport next month, giving the public the chance to see five rare World War II-era fighters and bombers.

The planes will land at the airport around 2 p.m. Aug. 15 and stay there until 5 p.m. Aug. 18.

Up-close views and tours inside the planes cost $15 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

Those with more cash can spring for flights on the antique aircrafts. The prices for flights range from $400 to $3,400 depending on the plane and duration.

This year it will feature a B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator, a B-25 Mitchell, a P-51 Mustang and a P-40 Warhawk.

The tour, presented by the educational nonprofit Collings Foundation, is celebrating its 30th year.

It visits an average of 110 cities in 35 states every year.
