Campbells Run Road in Robinson will remain closed after flooding
Campbells Run Road in Robinson will remain closed until a freshly paved portion that was damaged by Thursday’s heavy storms can be replaced.
The afternoon storms were so heavy that some motorists were stranded in the roadway, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
The road was forced to close between Baldwin Road and Keiners Lane.
As of 8:30 p.m., police were still at the scene, according to Allegheny County 911 dispatchers.
County public works officials announced late Thursday that the storms undermined a section of the road that was paved earlier that day.
Crews will be milling and repaving the damaged section Friday morning as soon as debris is removed.
Officials said they were not sure when Campbells Run Road would reopen.
Troubled waters
A photo submitted to WTAE shows at least one vehicle was trapped in flood waters.
County Councilman Pat Catena, who represents the area, advised residents on social media to avoid the area and said rescues were in progress.
