The residents of several streets in Shaler remain under a boil water advisory until futher notice because of a water main break late Monday.

The advisory issued by the Hampton Shaler Water Authority impacts Governor, Pamela, Bradley, Pitner, Ridgeway and Rial drives.

According to a notice posted online at hswa-pa.org, the break “cannot be repaired quickly and a temporary fire hose connection will be in use.”

The authority shared the following precautions for anyone under the advisory:

Do not consume tap water without boiling it first.

Bring water to a rolling boil for at least 1 minute and let it cool before using for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or preparing food.

Use bottled water if available.

The advisory is in effect until tests confirm the safety of the water supply.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation as we work to resolve this issue,” the notice said. “We will provide updates as soon as the situation is resolved and the water is safe for use.”
