Sciullo wins Weapons Grand Championship at Zang Invitational
Kevin Sciullo of Wexford, a 4th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, won the Weapons Grand Championship at the Zang Invitational Martial Arts Championship on Nov. 13 in Pittsburgh.
Sciullo, 29, has been training in Tae Kwon Do since 2003 and holds rank in Judo and Ju-Jitsu. He has competed in dozens of Martial Arts Tournaments winning more than 150 awards, including 100 first place wins, 15 grand championships and 13 National All Martial Arts titles in forms, sparring, breaking and weapons.
Sciullo is a 2010 graduate of North Allegheny High School and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Pittsburgh. He is employed by Pitt as the Wellness Coordinator of Campus Recreation/Student Affairs.
Sciullo is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a certified personal trainer and aerobic kick boxing instructor who trains several local high school athletes and adults in improving their strength and conditioning.
Prior to the pandemic outbreak last year shutting down tournament competition, Sciullo competed at the Lemons Warrior Invitational in Canton, Ohio, where he won the Grand Championships in both weapons and board breaking.
