This house fire in Sheraden early Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025 flared back up twice later in the morning, according to the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire.

First responders are continuing to search for a man believed to have been inside a house that caught fire early Saturday morning in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood.

Fire crews were called to a house in the 700 block of Hillsboro Street just after midnight. They arrived to find flames coming from the building’s second floor. As they worked to put the blaze out, part of the building collapsed, according to Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire officials.

As of 11 a.m., first responders were still searching for a man believed to have been in the building.

In addition, firefighters extinguished two flare-ups, one shortly before 5 a.m. and another at 7:20 a.m. Saturday.

Fire officials said Pittsburgh police are assisting in the search with drones, and will remain at the scene until the building is demolished. The city’s Department of Permits, Licenses, and Inspections is preparing a demolition plan.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
