Stops along Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s Silver Line will be temporarily disrupted next week due to electrical work
Pittsburgh Regional Transit said that service on the Silver Line will be temporarily suspended in parts of South Park and Bethel Park so that crews can replace and reinforce overhead electrical lines.
Serve on the “T” between Library and Lytle stations will be suspended between 10 a.m. on Monday through 3 p.m. on Friday.
The nine stops being disrupted between the two stations include: Mesta, South Park Road, Munroe, Sarah, Logan Road, King’s School Road, Beagle, Sandy Creek and West Library, according to Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s map.
“Shuttle buses will run between the stations,” Pittsburgh Regional Transit said in a social media post.
PRT warns riders to be aware of possible shuttle delays.
The shuttle buses take riders to Lytle station, where they can get on a Silver Line train towards Washington Junction and the city. Riders leaving the city and heading toward the South Hills will have to get a shuttle bus when the train’s service ends at Lytle station.
Also being disrupted along the Silver Line from March 2 to March 6, are the Connect Card machines, which scan rider’s reusable plastic smart cards at South Hills Junction.
The machines will be out of service while crews do concrete work in the area.
“The machines will be back in service on Friday,” the announcement said.
