Divine Redeemer Parish celebrates weekend Masses at 4:30 p.m. Saturdays at St. James Church and 5 p.m. at St. Mary Church in Aleppo.
Sunday Masses are celebrated at 8 and 11 a.m. at St. James and 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary.

The Divine Redeemer Quilters meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Meenan Center at Saint Mary Church, Glenfield Road in Aleppo to make quilts that are distributed to various places throughout the area. Last year, we made 364 quilts, which are finding homes in various places such as Caring Heights in Coraopolis, Verland, Genesis House, Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Institute, etc. All are welcome to join.
Divine Redeemer Parish Respect Life Committee seeks donations of gently used clothing and shoes, in sizes newborn through young adult as well as maternity, children’s books, baby wipes, and diapers (especially larger sizes). Items may be placed in the wooden bin outside of St. James Church or the box in the back of St. Mary Church.

Summer Sunday worship services are held at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the dining room. Both services are livestreamed online.
The Day on the Lawn rummage sale will be held on Sept. 6. Donations are welcome and will be accepted on Aug. 16 and Aug. 30 from 9 a.m.-noon. Visit the website to view donation guidelines before bringing donations to the church.
St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 and 10 a.m. Sundays and 5 p.m. Wednesdays.
The Sunday 10 a.m. service can be livestreamed or accessed later on YouTube; for families attending in person, a nursery is available for infants and toddlers. Sunday School and the monthly 10 a.m. Children’s Service are on hiatus for the summer.
To mark the beginning of the school year, Rev. Nancy Suellau will bless children’s backpacks at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, Aug. 24. All children, nursery-school age and up, are invited to bring their backpacks to church that day.
Conversation Friends, the parish’s English as a Second Language ministry, is seeking new volunteers to teach English to recent immigrants. No previous experience is necessary and the sessions are held over Zoom.
St. Brendan’s is supporting the North Hills Food Bank this month by collecting breakfast items such as cereal, pancake mix, syrup, oatmeal, juice and coffee. Donations may be left in the church lobby.
Parishioners are invited to pick up an empty backpack at church, fill it with school supplies for needy students and return it by Aug. 10. The backpacks will be distributed to several elementary schools in and around Pittsburgh.
Sticks & Strings, the church group that likes to knit, crochet or embroider, meets on the third Tuesday and first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the library.

The Kids’ Community Closet is a “free-cycle” community space to share kids’ clothes (birth through size 14/16). All clothing is free and in good, very gently used condition — some items still have tags on. There are no applications, income requirements, or donations necessary.
The Kids’ Community Closet is located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, and noon to 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday.

Volunteers are needed for the fourth Friday of every month for Triumph’s food distribution. From 2-4 p.m., volunteers will set up and package food and from 5-7 p.m., volunteers will distribute and break down the setup. Visit the website to sign up.
The Triumph Intercessory Prayer Team meets every Saturday to pray for the church, individuals, the nation and the world. Members are encouraged to share prayer requests with the team and share subsequent praise reports.
