Glenfield Road between Ferry Road and the I-79 southbound exit ramp in Aleppo Township will close starting at 7 a.m. Friday.

The closure, which is expected to end in October 2020, is required for construction of a new retaining wall, drainage repairs, excavation, guardrail installation, paving and pavement markings, according to an Allegheny County Department of Public Works news release.

Traffic will be detoured using Kilbuck Street, Deer Run Road, Merriman Road, Scaife Road, Blackburn Road and Mt. Nebo Road.

Glenfield Road has been closed between Ferry Road and Lang Road since May 1 for another retaining wall project. That closure is expected to end this week, which is earlier than expected.

The $132,064 emergency project will be done by Pugliano Construction Company of Pittsburgh.
