Allegheny County police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with the Jan. 25 shooting of a pregnant 20-year-old woman in Leetsdale.

Investigators charged Roderick Ferguson, 19, with three counts each of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment as well as firearms violations.

Police are also seeking the public’s help locating Ferguson, who frequents the McKees Rocks and Brentwood areas. He is black, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information about Ferguson is asked to call the Allegheny County Police tip line at 1-833-255-8477.

County detectives also announced the arrest of Madeline Filotei, 18, in connection with the shooting. She was charged with hindering apprehension and making false reports to law enforcement.

She is in the Allegheny County Jail awaiting arraignment, according to court records.

The shooting was reported at 11:25 p.m. Jan. 25 at the intersection of Route 65 and Broad Street in Leetsdale, according to Allegheny County police, who were asked to assist local departments with the investigation.

At about 11:29 p.m. a vehicle crash was reported about 4 miles away on Route 65 in Emsworth.

When police and first responders arrived, they found the pregnant woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the neck and chest. She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

The 20-year-old male driver was treated for injuries he suffered in the wreck and was released.

The names of the victims have not released.

County homicide detectives said the victims were in a red Hyundai Sonata traveling north along Route 65 when a second vehicle approached.

An occupant in that vehicle fired several shots into the Hyundai striking the woman. After the shooting, the Hyundai fled south along Route 65 until it wrecked.

Investigators have not released a motive for the shooting.
