Diane Krill and John Burger of Sewickley announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Burger, to Michael (Mickey) O’Rourke, son of Betsy and Samuel Halcomb, also of Sewickley.
The future bride and groom are graduates of Quaker Valley High School, where they met. After graduation, Burger attended Miami University of Ohio where she earned a degree in geology and environmental science. She also holds a master’s degree in environmental science from Point Park University. She works as a physical scientist for the United States Air Force in Charleston, S.C.
O’Rourke earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Youngstown State University and is employed as a project manager with Cape Romain Contractors in Charleston, S.C.
The couple is planning a July 31 wedding in their hometown of Sewickley. They will continue to live in Charleston after their nuptials.
