Edgeworth’s annual bike parade lined up at least 100 cyclists on Independence Day.
Participants of all ages gathered at Edgeworth Elementary School shortly before 10 a.m. for the parade, which was led by borough police.
The holiday celebration designed to bring children and families together with emergency responders for a defacto tour of the borough has taken place for at least 10 years.
Police led the parade in two groups; one for those who like to peddle fast and a second group for smaller riders and families with strollers.
Firefighters from Cochran Hose Co. brought out their trucks and helped with traffic control. Eat’n Park donated smiley cookies.
“It keeps growing every year,” police Chief John Burlett said on July 5. “We’ve had people from Cranberry, Leet Township and Sewickley. The kids absolutely love it.”
