The Respect Life Committee receives many urgent requests for infants’ and children’s clothing, especially with the change of seasons.
Please consider placing your family’s outgrown, gently used clothing and shoes in our bin outside St. James Church or our box at the back of St. Mary Church in Aleppo. We joyfully accept sizes newborn through young adult, as well as diapers (all sizes) and wipes.

The fall schedule has worship services at 8, 9 and 11 a.m., and a Christian Education hour for all ages at 10 a.m.
The after-school group, Club 345, runs from 3:45-5 p.m. on Wednesdays. This is for students in grades 3, 4 and 5. Throughout the school year, kids will enjoy snacks, great conversations, games, Bible lessons and hands-on activities that teach skills they can use to serve others — like craft making, cooking, flower arranging and more. St. Brendan’s Episcopal Church

St. Brendan’s is an open, welcoming and active church that holds in-person worship with Eucharist at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sundays, and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays. Sunday School for children of kindergarten age and up and nursery coverage for infants and toddlers is offered at the Sunday 10 a.m. service, which is live-streamed on YouTube. The next monthly Children’s Service will be Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., when young members will serve as readers, acolytes and ushers during the liturgy.
The Justice Ministry is sponsoring a virtual conversation with Evan Wolfson, who founded Freedom to Marry and spearheaded the successful campaign for the marriage of gay people, at 7 p.m. Oct. 9. Participants can contact the church for a Zoom link or watch the speaker on screen at the church.
Volunteers are needed to help make sandwiches in the church on Oct. 11 at 8:30 a.m. The lunches will go to city youth supported by the Neighborhood Resilience Project.
St. Brendan’s Adopt-a-Highway crew will perform its third litter cleanup of 2025 at the Camp Horne Road interchange of I-279 on Oct. 11. Participants will carpool from the church beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Conversation Friends, the parish’s English as a Second Language ministry, is seeking new volunteers to teach English to recent immigrants. No previous experience is necessary and the sessions are held over Zoom.
The parish has begun collecting gently worn winter clothing for our needy neighbors. Please bring sweaters, coats, scarves, gloves, etc. to the lobby for distribution to the Neighborhood Resilience Project.
The children and youth of the parish are sponsoring a collection this month of cat and dog treats for use at Animal Friends, a shelter in Ohio Township. Donations may be left in the church lobby.
Sticks & Strings, the church group that likes to knit, crochet or embroider, meets on the third Tuesday and first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the library.

The Kids’ Community Closet is a “free-cycle” community space to share kids’ clothes (birth through size 14/16). All clothing is free and in good, very gently used condition — some items still have tags on. There are no applications, income requirements, or donations necessary.
The Kids’ Community Closet is located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, and noon to 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday.
