CARE training also contains a set of techniques for giving effective commands to children and a set of selective ignoring techniques to redirect problematic behaviors.

Postpartum Revolution Road Trip

Postpartum Depression impacts one out of five moms and is particularly prevalent among Black and brown communities. The advocacy of comedian Angelina Spicer, a PPD survivor, has led to three current California laws supporting new moms, and with her Postpartum Revolution Road Trip, Spicer is advocating for similar national legislation – and to have PPD openly discussed and addressed. On July 17 at 7 p.m., she’ll be at the Theater (her exclusive Pittsburgh stop on the national tour) for an event featuring her filmed comedy special on PPD and a live panel discussion with other survivors and local healthcare experts who can connect women with the care they need. Spicer’s next focus is a documentary film, “The Push for Permission.”
