A familiar face will be joining the Tull Family Theater’s board.

After retiring as mayor in January this year, Brian Jeffe was excited when the theater invited him to join its board. Jeffe hopes to help the theater with its finance perpetuation and bring his sense of the town’s history to the board. Jeffe is also a partner at Seubert & Associates.

“I have been in support of this theater since day one in bringing in a family theater to our town,” he said.

Carolina Thor, chief executive officer of the Tull Family Theater, is excited for Jeffe to implement his deep roots with Sewickley on the board.

“I look forward to Brian joining our exceptionally community-driven board of directors and know that his expertise and awareness of the region’s needs will be a complementary addition,” Thor said in a press release.

Jeffe served as Sewickley’s mayor from 2009-2020, making him the borough’s longest tenured mayor in more than 80 years. He has lived in Sewickley with his wife and five kids for 34 years.

“I’m a great networker, so I look forward to bringing that to the theater,” Jeffe said.

Jeffe has volunteered heavily in the area, including with the Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park, Sewickley Memorial Day Parade Committee and the Woodland Swim Club. He has also served as president of the Quaker Valley Recreation Association and has coached various sports.

The theater feels like home for Jeffe, who is passionate about films and frequently brings his family to the theater. His favorite movie of all time is “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.”

“I really like the uniqueness of this theater. It is rare to come across a theater that plays eclectic, independent and classic movies these days,” he said.

While he has only scratched the surface in his new role, Jeffe looks forward to contributing to the theater in any capacity. Jeffe’s role will involve him being assigned different tasks and subcommittees.

“This is something near and dear to me, so I look forward to helping out in any way I can,” Jeffe said.
