John LeCornu of Sewickley takes his dog Birdie for a walk several times a day. He said people stop him daily on the street to meet the dog and often to take a photo with the canine. It’s not surprising because Birdie — a 3-year-old 140-pound great Pyrenees and Russian wolfhound mix — definitely stands out. Her fluffy white coat and calm demeanor are inviting. “She’s a celebrity,” LeCornu said as Birdie took a treat from a bowl in front of the Huntington Bank on Beaver Street in Sewickley on Aug. 6. “She knows to only take one treat. There are so many businesses that leave treats and water outside for pets, which is so nice.”
