Lunch & Learn

Fern Hollow Nature Center and the Sewickley Heights History Center will offer a new Lunch and Learn Series on the third Tuesday of each month from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Each program will take place at the History Center and will focus on a different nature-related topic such as sustainability and history. The programs will include a 45-minute presentation, a question and answer session and lunch. Registration required at fhnc.org. The cost to attend is $35 for an individual program or $90 for the whole spring series, as follows:

Mark Rengers Gallery

Mark Rengers Gallery, formerly the Sewickley Gallery & Frame Shop, presents “In Ruin,” March 31-May 13. Artists Rick Lewis and Seth Clark address the haunting power of nature in their work, layering materials and mediums to create abstracted impressions of the world we are so familiar with. Senior Men’s Club

An affiliate of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, the Senior Men’s Club will host Christopher Wu, first violen chair in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, who will talk about a life of music and golf on March 24. Chess tournament set

The Lindsay Theater and Cultural Center will host a chess tournament for K-12 students March 25 at 418 Walnut St. All participants play four games. Game times are 9:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. Awards will be given out to top finishers in each division. More information is available at gpchess.net/tournaments.
