Sewickley Area Mothers Club

The Sewickley Area Mothers Club is a 501(c)7 that supports and encourages local women and their families. Whether you are a new mom, a mother of young children, or simply new to the area, our organization is here to help!

Through same-age play dates, holiday parties, family events, moms’ nights out and charitable fundraising efforts, the SAMC enriches the lives of its members, their families and the community. SAMC is open to all mothers living in the Quaker Valley and Moon Area School Districts (and surrounding areas). Women of all races, colors and religions are welcome.

The New Members’ Meet & Greet event will be held on September 4 from 7-9 p.m. at the Walter J. Brannon Community Activity Center, 625 Blackburn Road. SAMC board members will welcome new and prospective members to learn about club membership and discuss events planned for the upcoming season.

Grief support group

Good Samaritan Hospice, a mission of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, will host a free weekly adult grief support group titled “Supporting Each Other After Loss with Memories, Feelings and Hope” this fall. The group will be held from 6-7:15 p.m. on Mondays, Sept. 15 through Oct. 6, at Concordia of Franklin Park (1600 Georgetown Dr.).

The free support group offers a safe, welcoming space for adults who have experienced the loss of someone close. Together, the group will share stories, explore the grief journey and find comfort in community. Many participants find healing through open conversation, prayer, creative activities and simply being with others who understand.

Registration is not required for this group, and participants are encouraged to join the group on any day. To sign up or for more information, call the GSH bereavement team at 1-800-720-2557.
