In brief: Pancake fundraiser, board vacancies and more in Sewickley area
Winter maintenance contract approved
Aleppo commissioners recently approved a new three-year contract with Allegheny County officials for winter maintenance on county-owned roads in the township.
Township manager Gwen Patterson said public works crews treat Glenfield Road and Glen Mitchell Road from Merriman Road to the Glen Osborne borough line.
Patterson said both Glen Mitchell and Glenfield roads are used by many Aleppo residents as they travel around the area. This agreement allows crews to plow and salt the roads as part of their normal routes. The roads can be cleared faster that way rather than waiting for a county truck to get there.
Payments to the township will be $11,462 for the first year, $11,806 in the second and $12,160 in the third year.
The prior agreement covered 2022-2025 for the same roads and the payments were $10,489, $10,804, and $11,128.

Dog control reminder
Leetsdale officials want to remind residents that dogs are not permitted in borough parks. Owners are also required to have their dogs on leashes when walking them around town.
