Meeting canceled
Glen Osborne’s July 15 council meeting was canceled due to a lack of a quorum.
Borough secretary/treasurer Diane Vierling said July is traditionally a tough month to get enough council members together due to vacations and other commitments.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Aug. 19 at Osborne Elementary School.
Position eliminated
Leetsdale council unanimously voted July 10 to eliminate its part-time office clerk position.
Council in June 2024 hired Deborah Vougias as a part-time office clerk at $21 per hour.
Borough officials this month said the position elimination had nothing to do with Vougias’ performance.
The position was not necessary due to a change in office hours and it duplicated responsibilities, according to council members.
