The West Hills Symphonic Band performed for the Sewickley Music Club in November.

Sewickley Music Club

The Sewickley Music Club will hold its first in-person, socially distanced event following a year-long covid shut down by welcoming world performer and current Pittsburgh resident Allan Snyder. Snyder, accompanied by Bill Brewer, will be singing a program of tunes entitled “Broadway and Beyond – Music from the History of the Broadway stage.”

Music club members will meet for this event 1:30 p.m. April 13 at the Montour HeightsCountry Club, 1491 Coraopolis Heights Road in Coraopolis.

Information on Sewickley Music Club membership can be found on The Sewickley Music Club Facebook page or by calling Suzanne at 724-316-3631.

Tull Family Theater occupancy changes

Following Pennsylvania guidelines, Tull Family Theater is easing occupancy restrictions from 15% to 25% of screening room capacity. The Theater continues to suggest that patrons, especially those coming in groups, purchase tickets in advance online or at the box office. Masks still will be required; social distancing and other health and safety protocols remain intact.

For more information and the latest screening schedule, visit thetullfamilytheater.org.

Earth Day Cleanup

Aleppo Township’s annual Earth Day roadside cleanup event will be held on April 24. This will be an outdoor-only event. For updates or more information visit aleppotownship.com.

Spring Leaf Collection

The Borough of Sewickley will conduct its Spring Leaf Collection Program through April 16, weather permitting.

Leaves are to be placed between the curb and sidewalk and not in the street. Brush, grass and shrubbery clippings are not to be mixed with leaves. Grass and shrubbery clippings are required to be bagged for weekly garbage collection. Branches must be cut to 4 ft. lengths and bundled. Waste Management, the borough’s waste collection hauler, will not pick up branches unless this is done. The borough will only pick up branches after a storm.

Leaves that are not put out for collection during this time will have to be bagged for regular waste pickup.

YMCA Summer Camp

This summer, let your kids be kids again at the Sewickley Valley YMCA’s Summer Day Camp. Your child can build robots, dance, become a lego master or gymnast, explore the outdoors and much more. Plus, all camps include art, swimming, games and singing silly songs. Whether you register your child for a single two-week session, or all five, the tech-free summer will be the summer to remember.

New this year, cardboard camp offers creativity and imagination where campers build armor, participate in live-action adventure gaming and seek out lost relics.
