Sewickley StoryWalk
This summer, the Sewickley Public Library invites you to grab the family and take a stroll through one of five different community StoryWalks set up throughout the Quaker Valley. A StoryWalk places pages from a children’s picture book along a walking path so that children and their caregivers may enjoy nature and reading together.
Families can visit the five Sewickley StoryWalk sites to take a self-guided walk around the parks and read a book as they go. Different summer-themed picture book stories are featured at each site. At Fern Hollow Nature Center, visitors can enjoy reading “Butterflies in the Garden” by Carol Lerner. Allegheny Land Trust — Audubon Greenway’s location features “My Awesome Summer,” by P. Mantis (A Nature Diary) by Paul Meisel. Visitors to Mary Roberts Rinehart Nature Park can read “In The Tall, Tall Grass” by Denise Fleming, while Ohio Township Nature Center visitors can enjoy the title “Then Comes Summer” by Tom Brenner. The Henle Park location in Leetsdale is new to this year’s Sewickley StoryWalk. Visitors to the park can read “My Busy, Green Garden” by Terry Price during their stroll.
