Tree planting

Volunteers are needed for a tree planting in Leetsdale, 9 a.m. to noon March 23. Participants will meet at the VFW community room at 515 Beaver St. and be sent to planting sites at various public right-of-ways and in Kohlmeyer Park. The event is in partnership with TreeVitalize and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. The goal is to plant 24 trees. A light breakfast and lunch will be served at the VFW.

Sewickley car event

The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Sewickley Stampede and Roundup is set for 5:30-9 p.m. July 30. Cars will parade from War Memorial Park through town and park in front of The Hotel & Rosa’s Cantina along Beaver Street where owner Robin Fernandez will host a party. About 30 cars are expected to be involved. This will be the second year of the grand prix in the borough. It is presented by Sewickley Porsche. Go to pvgp.org/events/stampede for more information.

Bell Acres council will meet at 6 p.m. March 11 at the fire hall at 1850 Big Sewickley Creek Road.

Leet commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. March 11 at the township building, 194 Ambridge Ave.

Sewickley council will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 12 at the borough building, 601 Thorn St.

Sewickley Hills council will meet at 7:30 p.m. March 12 at the borough building, 349 Magee Road.

Leetsdale council will meet at 7 p.m. March 14 at the borough building, 373 Beaver St.

Sewickley Heights council will meet at 4:30 p.m. March 18 at the borough hall, 238 Country Club Road.

Aleppo commissioners will meet at 7 p.m. March 18 at the municipal building, 100 North Drive.

Edgeworth council will meet at 7 p.m. March 19 at the borough building, 301 Beaver Road.

Glen Osborne council will meet at 7 p.m. March 19 at Osborne Elementary School, 1414 Beaver St.

Business Connection

Greater Pittsburgh Business Connection, a referral group of business professionals, will meet at the Eat N’ Park on Route 60 in Robinson Township for breakfast from 7:15 to 8:30 a.m. March 13. Speakers will be Suzette McCarrell of McCarrell Landscape Construction and Stephanie Milazzo of Mary Kay Cosmetics. Sewickley Men’s Club

Sewickley Men’s Club, an affiliate of the Sewickley Valley YMCA, will host Dan Sanko, VF-653 F4-U Korean Fighter Squadron, on March 8. Dr. Frank Conn will discuss combat surgery in the Afghanistan Combat Theatre on March 15; Dr. Phillip Atteberry of the University of Pittsburgh will speak on English-American songwriter June Styne on March 22.
